A atriz sofria de Alzheimer.<\/p>\n<p>Nick, filho da atriz, anunciou em junho deste ano que a m\u00e3e j\u00e1 sofria da doen\u00e7a h\u00e1 5 anos. Segundo o diretor, Gena j\u00e1 estava em est\u00e1gio de &#8220;dem\u00eancia&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>A atriz interpretou Allie mais velha em &#8220;Di\u00e1rio de uma Paix\u00e3o&#8221;. Ela dividiu o papel com Rachel McAdams, que interpretou a vers\u00e3o jovem da protagonista.<\/p>\n<p>Gena Rowlands venceu quatro Emmys e foi indicada duas vezes ao Oscar de Melhor Atriz.
